The first property, Cressex 1, is located in suburban London and totals approximately 51,000 rentable square feet of redevelopment space. The company plans to build 20,000 square feet of raised floor, turn-key data center space, as well as 15,000 square feet of supporting office/business space. Construction is scheduled to begin in the first quarter of 2008 with completion expected by September 2008. The second property, Naritaweg 52, is located in Amsterdam, Netherlands. Plaza Centers buys 3rd Serbian mall development

Plaza Centers noted that this is the company's third development in Serbia, since it entered the market earlier this year. In August, it won a Serbian government tender to build a 100,000-square meter mall and business center in Belgrade, and in November, it bought a lot for a 35,000-square meter mall in Kragujevac.

Plaza Centers president and CEO Ran Shtarkman said, "In acquiring our third development project in Serbia in only four months, we are demonstrating our firm belief in the exciting prospects for the region. The economic growth in Serbia will encourage strong demand for large-scale, mixed use developments from commercial occupiers and visitors."

On Monday, the company opened the Plzen Plaza Shopping and Entertainment Center in Plzen, Czech Republic. The 20,000-square meter mall is full occupied. The mall has a gross estimated value of €61.8 million. The property has been sold to Klepierre SA (Euronext:KPR), as part of a larger transaction, and the handover is due during the first quarter of 2008.

Rishon LeZion plans environmentally friendly high-tech park

The Rishon LeZion municipality has approved the plan of a group of businessmen headed by Amnon Neubach, to develop an environmentally friendly high-tech park on a 200-dunam (50-acre) site in the western part of the city. A large underground parking garage will be built beneath the building. The surrounding residential construction will comprise of either luxury apartment blocks in a gated community, or low buildings.

Rishon LeZion city architect Miri Israel said that the developers had undertaken to allocate a large area for green spaces. The buildings' roofs will have gardens, all parking will be underground, and no vehicles will be allowed within the compound. The high-tech park will be located near public transport routes, and will include bicycle paths, which will be linked to the town's main bicycle paths.

30,000 sqm mixed-use project approved for Zim lot in Haifa

The Haifa Regional Planning and Building Commission has approved a 30,000-square meter mixed use project for the Zim lot in Haifa. The project will include offices, shops, a 150-room hotel, and 75 apartments in the University Campus project on Ha'atzma'ut St. and Pal-Yam St. in the downtown part of the city.

The project includes access to public transportation routes, including the upgraded Carmelit transit rail system up Mount Carmel, and the present railway network, and it will have pedestrian walkways between the streets. The project's 2,000 square meters of shopping space will be in a building slated for preservation.
